Our school can help with enrolment queries throughout the year.
Local enrolment area
Check your address on School Finder to see if it is within our local intake area. Most schools have designated local enrolment areas. Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change.
How to enrol
If you live in our intake area and would like to apply to enrol at our school, start by submitting an online enrolment application. Online enrolment is currently only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.
If you are not able to apply online or you prefer not to, download the paper application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form. Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.
Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolment. Please note that out-of-area enrolment procedures are subject to the department’s enrolment policy.
Enrolment applications are finalised at the school.

Non Local Enrolment Information
The NSW Department of Education have introduced a revised enrolment policy and procedural framework to take effect from 2020. The focus of these revised enrolment procedures is to reduce state-wide non local enrolment in NSW schools. This policy does not apply to Selective School Student intake. It does apply to community students.
In essence, schools will be required to decline applications for non-local enrolment, once they have reached their enrolment buffer.
An enrolment cap for Sefton High School has been centrally set by the NSW Department of Education. Within this enrolment cap, a buffer must be kept for local area students who arrive unexpectedly throughout the year.
Places in the local enrolment buffer are not allowed to be offered to non-local students.
Sefton High School's present (Term 2 2020) level of enrolments place our numbers between our buffer and cap. As such in 2020, no non local places have been able to be offered.
Projected 2020 and 2021 Year 7 student intake numbers suggest that enrolment numbers will not be below the buffer and as such, no non-local area positions will be offered in 2020 and 2021.
Should this situation change we will advise in this space.
Expression of Interest for Community Stream Out of Area
Present enrolment numbers at Sefton High School have the school at or near capacity. As such there is very little scope for out of area placements being available within our community stream intake.
All applicants must be aware that applications for out of area placement are for community stream intake only. Placement of students into the selective stream intake is via a completely separate process. Details of how to apply for placement within the selective stream intake are found elsewhere on our website.
There is no one critieria that Sefton High School will use to assess out of area applications for the community stream. A holistic approach is taken. Sibling enrolments at Sefton High School is not of itself a basis for an out of area community intake application.
Applicants wishing to have their application for out of area enrolment into the Sefton High School community stream considered must do so on the prescribed form and completed in the students’ own handwriting. EOI Out of Area Community Enrolment
